Have you started to pack yet?
Here’s an opportunity to make a list of what you plan to bring – physically, emotionally, intellectually, spiritually, to Uganda, to the group, to the Lord, etc. What do you plan to leave behind?

Physically: Nathan Buehner’s toy cars, Lauren Buehner’s $20 donation and Littlest Pet Shop toys; supplies for day of the youth; hard candy; and a gift for Paul.
Spiritually: A desire to serve and a desire for the Lord to change me.
I guess what concerns me is that after spending months in preparation – in “packing” my luggage – that I will come home with an empty piece of luggage – feeling unfulfilled and poorer. I know God’s promises that what I’ve sown in tears I will reap in joy. I know the old gospel song, “You can’t beat God’s giving no matter how hard you try.” But I fear coming back empty. For that matter, I fear coming with bags full, but full of worthless items; prepared physically, but unprepared to share spiritually.
Heavenly Father, empty me out of my own will. Pack me with your Spirit. Let me come back with a changed perspective – your perspective. Let me come back with a heart full of blessings, full of energy, full of faith, full of love, full of hope, full of joy. Let my soul be packed full despite the fact that I will have left the county dispersing these same gifts – through your Spirit’s power and your omnipotence.
